GAME GUIDES
Play Spyfall Online Free with Friends
To play Spyfall online on this website, create a private room and invite your friends. Each player uses their own browser for a secret card and voting. You can sit together with separate phones or join from different places while talking on your own voice call.

The browser version is free and supports 3-12 players without accounts. You need a modern browser with JavaScript and an internet connection. Friends do not have to install the iOS app to join your browser room.
- Open Start a game and choose Online.
- Select Classic Spyfall and enter your nickname in the room setup.
- Create a room, then share its invitation link or room code privately.
- Wait for your friends in the lobby and choose the available pack and round settings.
- Start the round when the group is ready; everyone reads and acknowledges their own card.
How friends join the game
Open the invitation in a browser, enter a nickname and join the lobby. You can also use the room-code join option in setup. Check that everyone appears in the roster before starting. Share the invitation with the people you want to play with, rather than posting it publicly.
There is no public matchmaking in the browser room flow. You bring the group. If only two friends are present, wait for at least one more before beginning. Everyone should use their own screen for online play; use local mode instead if you want to pass a single device around.
Playing remotely: use your own call
Spyfall depends on spoken questions and answers, but this website does not include voice or video chat. Start a separate call before the round, or talk face to face. Keep the game open for the timer, your concealed card and the vote.
Do not share your game screen on the call. A civilian screen can reveal the location to the spy, and a spy screen can reveal their identity. Read the card privately, conceal it, then return to the conversation. The first asker is shown in the game so the group can start without choosing a volunteer.
What happens during an online round
Civilians share one location and have individual roles; the spy receives no location. Ask specific players indirect questions until the group calls a vote or the discussion timer ends. A strict majority must catch the spy. Ties, no majority and accusing a civilian give the spy the win.
A caught spy gets one final location guess and can still win by guessing correctly. Otherwise civilians win. The server controls the online deadlines and outcome. Results and scores lead into a rematch, which keeps the scores and rotates the starter. Spyfall online results keep secret assignments private.
Refresh, connection loss and leaving
If the connection drops, return promptly in the same browser tab. While your membership is still valid, the game can restore it after refresh or reconnect; your private card comes back concealed. Do not assume a new tab or another device has your existing membership.
If a player leaves or their disconnect grace expires during an unfinished round, the round ends without points. A departed host can be replaced by a remaining player. Idle rooms eventually expire. This is a temporary party session, not an account-based collection of saved games.
Online play requires a connection. If everyone is together and the network is unreliable, choose local mode on one device instead. Once the offline download is ready, local games can reopen without the server.
